Donald Scott Edington February 9, 1938 ~ June 17, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Don on June 17, 2019 at the age of 81 at the West Parry Sound Health Centre.  Loving husband of Sandy.  Sadly missed by his sons, Ron (Lorie), Scott (Kathy), Mark (Lisa), and Mick (Christine).  (Predeceased by their mother Marjory.) Loving step father of Murray, Cheri (Troy) and Melanie (Rob).  Grandfather of Brad, Tonya, Elizabeth, Noah, Tyler, Christopher, Mason, Dalton, Alisha, Zachary, Sydney, Bailey and Reiley.  Great grandpa of Georgia, Mackenzie and Piper.  Survived by his sister Jean and brother Bob (Betty).  Remembered by his nieces and nephews.  Cremation arrangements entrusted to the Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound). A private family celebration will be held at a later date. Passing a good deed forward or making a donation to the West Parry Sound Health Centre – Palliative Unit would be appreciated by the family.

Marilyn Gloria Campbell (nee Stewart) August 17, 1945 ~ June 02, 2019

Passed away peacefully on Sunday June 2, 2019 with her sister Karen by her side at the West Parry Sound Health Centre in her 74th year.  Best Friend and Life partner to Allan of 54 years.  The Best ever mom to Mark (Colleen) and Anthony (Sherry).  An amazing grama to Callum.  Marilyn is survived by her siblings Linda, John and Karen (Jim).  She will be missed dearly by her fur baby Libby as well as many friends and extended family.  Cremation arrangements entrusted to the Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound).  A private family interment will be held at a later date.  If desired, donations to Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary would be appreciated by the family.

 

Zilpha Loraine Moore (nee Armstrong) April 6, 1928 ~ February 28, 2019

Zilpha Loraine Moore of Parry Sound passed away at Belvedere Heights Home for the Aged on Thursday February 28th, 2019 in her 91st year.  Loving wife of Howard for 69 years.  Cherished mother of Terry and Jim Bogdon of Walkerton, Kerry Moore of Parry Sound, and Randy and Doris Moore of Parry Sound.  Loving Gramma of Christopher Bogdon (Mohsan), Justin Bogdon (Julia), Jenna Moore (Jeff), Sarah Moore (Clayton), Katelyn Moore (Theo), and Jeremy Moore.  Great gramma to Rielly and Aubree Bogdon.  Beloved sister of Joan, Alvin and Gerald.  Predeceased by her parents Susan Chapman and Charles Armstrong, brothers and sisters, Evelyn, Francis, George, Charles, Russell, Vern, Leslie and grandchild Joey Bogdon.  Fondly remembered by many family and friends.  Cremation arrangements entrusted to Torrance Funeral Home.  Family and Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service on Saturday June 1, 2019 at 1 PM at the St. James United Church (24 Mary Street, Parry Sound). There will be a reception and gathering until 4 PM following the service. All are welcome for a time of fellowship and to share stories and fond memories. Al Newton September 6, 1938 ~ May 30, 2019

Suddenly at home on Thursday May 30, 2019 at the age of 80.  Beloved husband of the late Shirley (2011). Proud father to Kenny (Norma), Russell, Marcel, Edmund (Monique), Charlene (Ray) and Rene. Loving Papa to Shannon and Shyla. Great grandfather to Savannah and Anderson. Survived by his brother Marty.  Predeceased by his siblings Annette, Randy, Harold and Elaine.  He will be dearly missed by many friends and extended family.  Al grew up on the Pickerel River in “Newton Town”. Playing music with his family and friends was his greatest joy. Al loved his fiddle, banjo and his guitar and played them right up to his final days. He was a long time trackman on CP Rail. Cremation arrangements entrusted to the Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound). A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer at the Pickerel River. If desired, donations to Saint Joseph’s Oratory in Montreal would be appreciated by the family.

Thomas Frederick Green March 24, 1921 ~ May 29, 2019

Passed away peacefully at Belvedere Heights Home for the Aged, on Wednesday May 29, 2019 in his 99th year.  Beloved husband of Dorothy Green (Crawford).  Cherished father of Pat Fleming (Russ), Carolyn Green (Peter Wallace), and Judy Green.  Loving grandfather of John (Farah), Jeremy (Bridgette), Melanie (Mike) and great grandfather of 5.  Tom was a war veteran, building contractor and welfare administrator who retired early to live near Georgian Bay and pursue his love of fishing.  He had a great sense of humour and loved being with family and friends.   Cremation arrangements entrusted to the Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound). A Memorial visitation will be held at the Torrance Funeral Home on Sunday June 2, 2019 from 2 – 4 PM. Family sharing will be at 3 PM.   If desired, donations to Belvedere Heights Home for the Aged or the West Parry Sound Health Centre would be appreciated by the family.

 

Joseph Alexander De Sommer February 15, 1928 ~ May 16, 2019

Memorial Service - May 24, 2019 - 1:30 pm

Joseph Alexander De Sommer passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 16, 2019 at the age of 91.  Beloved husband to Martha for 26 years.  Father to Joe, Helen, Margaret and Catherine.  Grandfather to Sarah, Leah, Libby, James, Mathew, and Emilee.  Pre-deceased by his first wife, Vera.  He was a dedicated Public Servant and Solicitor for 27 years at the Attorney General Office in Toronto.  Joseph was an avid skier and outdoorsman, a member of the Knights of Columbus and appreciator of fine (and not so fine) Scotch. For many years he loved cottage life in the Parry Sound area and finally settled in Nobel since retirement.

A Funeral Mass for Joseph will be held on Friday, May 24 at 1:30 P.M., 2019 at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Parry Sound.  Cremation arrangements entrusted to the Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound).  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

John Ronald (Ron) Morrison June 1, 1932 ~ May 22, 2019

John Ronald (Ron) Morrison passed away peacefully in his sleep at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Wednesday May 22, 2019 in his 87th year.  He was born in Parry Sound ON. June 1st, 1932.  Ron spent most of his working life as an engineer with the Canadian Pacific Railway for 38 years.  Brother to Bud and Anna Mae Kerr.   Predeceased by his parents John and Mary (nee York), brother Wayne and sister Dale.  He will be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.  Cremation arrangements entrusted to the Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound). A graveside private family service will take place at a later date.  The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff of the West Parry Sound Health Centre for their kind and compassionate care. It’s with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ann Daleman on Wednesday May 8, 2019 surrounded by her loving family at the Health Sciences North Sudbury in her 81st year.  Beloved wife and soul mate of Theodore.  Proud mother to Stephen (Patricia), Michael (Rhonda) and Sylvia. Cherished grandmother to Gabrielle, Sasha, Isaac, Zachary, Austin and Samuel.  She is survived by her brother Edmund (Edith), sister in law Betty (late Garnet) and sister Saby (late Dick). Ann will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews many friends and extended family.  Cremation has taken place.  Friends and Family will be received at the Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound) for a celebration of Ann’s Life on Saturday May 18, 2019 from 12 – 2 PM.  The Memorial Service will be at 2 PM.  As an expression of sympathy donations to the Heart & Stroke foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Monday May 13, 2019 in his 80th year.  Loving husband and life partner of the late Kathy.  Proud father of Andy (Debbie) and Kelly (Carrie).  Cherished Grampa to Christine, Stacey and Kevin.  Survived by his siblings Mike and Tiny.  He is dearly missed by his furry four-legged best friend Hummer.  He will be missed by his nieces, nephews, many friends and extended family.  A special thank you to the West Parry Sound Health Centre Nurses and Staff and the Dialysis Unit for all your loving support and caring of Harry through the years of his treatments and to the guys at Morrows for your years of hard work and unwavering dedication.  We truly can’t thank you enough.  Friends and Family will be received at the Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound) on Friday May 17, 2019 from 11 – 1PM for visitation.  The Funeral Service to follow at 1PM.  Interment at Foley Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy donations to the Northern Cancer foundation would be appreciated by the family.
