Passed away peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre after a long battle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late Neil. Loving mother of Cheryl. Cherished grandmother of Shaunna, Kearra and Carissa. Great grandmother of Everleigh June. Survived by her sister Yvonne Mullen (Glen) and her sister in laws Alice and Pat. June is predeceased by her brothers Duncan, Eugene, Clarence, Francis, Marvin and Sisters Margaret, Wilma and Teresa. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation has taken place. Peacefully after a lengthy illness at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Wednesday September 12, 2018 at the age of 83. Russ will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Nancey and his children Stephen (Bonnie), Barry and Jeffrey (Amanda). Russ will be remembered fondly by his daughter-in-law Tammy, his six grandchildren Micheal, Colton, Brianna, Autumn Rose, Abigail and Grace, and his brothers and sisters-in-law Barb, Audrey, Dave (Agi), Ed (Janice), Ron (Carrie), and Judy (Danny). Russell was predeceased by his son Gary, and his brothers Ken and Wallace. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received at the Torrance Funeral Home on Saturday September 15, 2018 from 3 pm – 5 pm for a Memorial Visitation. A Celebration of Russ’ life will take place on Saturday September 22, 2018 from 1 pm – 4 pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall (2400 Industrial St. Burlington, ON.) Bert passed away peacefully in Parry Sound on August 12, 2018 in his 80th year. Loving husband to Patricia for 55 years. Will be forever remembered by his children Stephen (Susan), Paul (Cyndi Garrick), and Michael. Proud Papa to Hayley (Cameron Marshall), Joseph (Roxanne), and Grandpa to Amanda, Declan, Cooper, Hudson. Brother-in-law to Barbara & Bill Margeson, Uncle to Tim (spouse Vero Lefebvre) and their children Liam and Dylan. Bert lived a full and happy life, very much involved with his family’s activities. Mary Jean Punfield (Shipman/Slote) at age 92, passed away peacefully at Lakeland Long Term Care on Friday July 27th, 2018 in Parry Sound. Loving mother to Ted Shipman and his wife Jocelyn. Beloved Grandma of Ben, Jill, Erin and Heather. Proud Great-Grandma of Elizabeth, Avery, Bennett and Timothy. Born in Windsor, Ontario January 22nd, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Thomas Simeon and Mary Jane Slote. Mary was preceded in death by her husband in first marriage Horace (Al) Shipman, daughter Dorothy, brother Jack and sister Edna, and husband in second marriage Jim Punfield.
Mary was an excellent card player and avid baseball fan. She took great pride in her family and loved her nieces, nephews and friends dearly.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday August 13th, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound).

It is with heavy heart that the family of David Frazer announce his passing at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, on Friday July 27th, 2018 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Barbara for over 60 years. Proud father of Debbie and Roy Leard, Val and Doug Govan, Cathy Lay and Brad and Nancy Frazer. Cherished Poppa to Cecelia Lay, Ryan and Mandy Leard, Valerie and Jon Loewen, Adam Leard, Amylia Govan, Darren Govan, Kyle Frazer and Brandon Frazer. Great grandfather to Mackenzie Hay, Charley Potts, Alex Loewen, Jacob Loewen, Reilly Leard and William Loewen. Predeceased by his brother William “Bill” Frazer. David will be dearly missed by his many friends at the McKellar Sunday Seniors, Parry Sound Seniors Drop in Centre, Nobel Seniors Centre and Chinguacousy Curling Club. Friends and family will be received at the Torrance Funeral Home on Monday July 30th, 2018 from 11 – 1 PM with the Memorial Service at 1 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Acton Curling Club (242 Churchill Road North, Acton) Sunday August 26, 2018 from 1 – 4 PM to receive his friends from the G.T.A. Kenneth William John Bazilsky June 9, 1939 ~ July 30, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce that Ken Bazilsky, 79, passed away on July 30, 2018, in Parry Sound, Ontario.
Ken was born in MacTier to parents Edward and Isabel. While working in Sept Iles, Quebec, he met Donna MacPhee. Ken and Donna were married in 1961, and they had three children. Ken spent his working life in Labrador and Quebec. In 1992, he retired from Wabush Lake Railway/Arnaud Railway, and returned to live in the Parry Sound area.
Ken appreciated the simplicity of life. He loved trains, Jack Russell terriers (especially his dog, Monty), travelling, and good food. He enjoyed attending Montreal Canadiens hockey games and the playful banter amongst family members when playoffs came around.
Ken now joins his beloved wife, Donna, as well as his parents. He is survived by his three children, Taushonna (Sidney), Peter (Louise), and Bryan. Ken had three grandchildren, Christopher, Sarah, and Emma, as well as a great granddaughter, Kenzi. He will also be greatly missed by his nephew, Rick (Tammy).
As per Ken’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound) The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Palliative Care Unit of the West Parry Sound Health Centre for all their help and support.
