Peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on August 22, 2017 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Barbara. Lovingly remembered by his children Byron Stadnyk (Patti Freeman), Kim (Rob) Vandrish, Tricia Stadnyk (Matthew Falcone). Proud Grandfather to Brandon, R.J., Tyler, Alexa and Taylor. John is survived by his dear sister Nellie Werth. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Tekla “Kate” and his sister Mary Wojna (2015).
John and Barbara married in 1975 and enjoyed 42 years of raising a family together. They operated a sales business for 28 years. He was an avid Hockey Player. He enjoyed his passion of hockey till this February 2017! John and Barbara shared a passion for skiing and did so for more than 45 years. They spent many hours fishing…not necessarily catching but enjoying each other’s company. For the last 7 years they have enjoyed retirement at their home in Broadbent taking and interest in Tai Chi, bowling and many of the community activities in the Parry Sound area with friends and neighbor’s.
The Family would like to say a special Thank you to LHIN/CCAC, VON, all the volunteers, neighbor’s and friends that helped and supported us through this time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Proud father of Bonnie Haill (Harold), Joanne Grant, and the late Bob Andrew Grant. Cherished grandfather of Richard, David, and Kevin. Great grandfather of Alexis, Avery, and Jacob. He will be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family in Scotland. Passed away peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Sunday August 13, 2017 at the age of 73. Beloved husband to Marion Maul. Loving father of Sabine Hurd and her husband Martin. Proud Grandfather of Ryan and Jamie of Cochrane. Survived by his sister Marianne Hoffmann (Arnold) and their children Esther, Patricia, and Arnie from Ancaster. Glenda Todd April 5, 1966 ~ July 16, 2017
Glenda Kay Todd, age 51, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 16th, 2017 after a three and a half year cancer journey. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her husband and children. She was born April 5th, 1966 in Goshen, IN to Glen and Katie Bontrager. She married Thomas Todd of Parry Sound, ON on September 20th, 1986. Beloved mother of Erica, Kirk (Jessica), Troy, and Tyler. Cherished sister to Brian, Sheri (Dave), and Lyle (Cami). Glenda will be forever remembered by all of her extended family and friends. She was a devoted Pastor’s wife and will be missed greatly by her church family. The Todd Family wishes to acknowledge and thank all of the dear friends, family, and health care team who supported Glenda through her journey with cancer. Passed away peacefully in her sleep at Raglan Village, Collingwood on Friday July 7, 2017 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of Gordon. Loving mother of Carol (David), Leanne, Robert (Glenda), Heather (Chris). Cherished grandmother of Heather, Carrie, Robyn, Alex, Ethan, Jordie and Great grandmother of Fleetwood, Lawson, and Stirling. Predeceased by her brothers; Carroll, Jack, Ted, Billy, and Bruce. Missed by her many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was a pioneering woman in the Parry Sound area as a teacher, trustee and chair of the West Parry Sound Board of Education, and volunteer with the Festival of the Sound. Jean passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side. She is predeceased by her loving husband John of 48 years.
Amazing mother of Sandra (Joe) Dixon, and Ian (Donna) Bolton. Grandma to Kyle and Melissa, Snoopy grandma to Lorraine (James), Sue–Anne, Steve (Heather). Great grandma to Hailey (Nick), Vicki (Andrew) and Cassie. Great great grandma to James and Lucas. Jean will be missed by her brothers Bill (late Grace) and Jack (Connie) Morrison, in laws Alex (Alan) and Marjorie (Andy). Lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews and many friends.
She had a great sense of humor, and brought sunshine into the lives she touched, so many people have commented on how easy it was to get to know her, and love her. Jean was a Leafs and Jays fan and a Huge Snoopy collector, we are sure she is up in Heaven talking to Charles Shultz about her love of Snoopy.
Jean was a long time Correctional officer with the Ontario Government, member of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Parry Sound Pipes, Drums Ladies Auxiliary and coached community living baseball. She was a loyal friend and respected member of the Parry Sound community whose friendship broke the generation gap from the very young to the very old.
This tough lady fought and beat cancer, to be 5 years cancer free, unfortunately, her cancer had returned, in the end, but she never gave up, and offered her strength to others combating the same disease.
Friends will be received at the Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes Street, Parry Sound) on Saturday June 10, 2017 from 1 – 3 PM. Funeral Service will be at 3 PM. Interment will be at Sylvan Acres cemetery on Monday June 12, 2017 at 12 PM.
