Barb Hamer July 3, 1947 ~ May 19, 2018
It is with great sadness that the Hamer family said goodbye to Barb at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Saturday May 19, 2018 at the age of 70. Beloved wife of Bill. Loving mother of Jeff and his wife Kathy, Darren and his wife Trish. Loving Grammy of Kendra. Predeceased by her sister Janis Gray. Remembered by her nieces and nephews. Over the years Barb enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, and the occasional motorcycle ride. She was well known within the Classic Car Club community and will be missed by many. Cremation has taken place. The Memorial visitation will be held at the Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound) on Friday May 25, 2018 from 2 – 6 PM. Passed away peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre – Palliative Care in his 73rd year. Dear husband and lifelong friend of Joyce Wickman. Loving father of (Dad, Daddy, Daddio) to Sue, Kathy, Karen (Steve), Robert Jr. and Bryanne (Nick). Loving grandfather (papa) to Nicole (Jamie), Jesse, Morgan, Jayni (Mitch), Jenna (Kirk), Ashtyn, Michael and Mathew, Brandon, Brooklyn, Ryne, and baby Elaine. Great Papa to Jack, Finnley, Ryder and Connor. Loving brother of Doreen and Brenda (Frank). Predeceased by his parents Ernie and Gaynal Phillips, his sister Margaret, and brother Dan. Sadly missed by the Wickman family and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation arrangements entrusted to the Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound). Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at the Parry Sound Legion – Branch 117 on Monday May 28, 2018 at 12 Noon. All are welcome to share their memories with a luncheon to follow. Steve passed away peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Sunday May 13, 2018 at the age of 59. Soulmate and beloved husband of Debbie (Michaud) for 39 years. Loving father of Rola and her husband Lorne Fraser, Dean and Becky Jones. Proud grandpa to Zack Fraser. Brother to Bill and his wife Brenda and Phillip Jones. Predeceased by his sisters Helen (Ron Morrow), Joyce (Sam Watkinson) and Carolyn (Ron Harris). Steve will be fondly remembered by all his nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
A very special thank you to the staff at The Friends and the many doctors, nurses and PSWs that work on the ALC unit of the Health Centre. Your support, care and kindness made Steve’s life a better one as he dealt with the effects of Multiple Sclerosis.
As per Steve’s wishes: Cremation has taken place and were entrusted to the Torrance Funeral Home and there will be no funeral service. Loving mother of Richard, Colleen Kalbe-Currie (Marvin), and Jason (Monique). Much loved Grandmother of Stephan, Benjamin, Michael, Brad, Jared, Tyler, Emily, and Justine. Beloved great grandmother of Serenity and Sebastian. Baby sister of Don Cosby (Sue), Marlene Henry (late Gord), and Wayne Cosby (Lianne). Remembered by her best friend Shirley Oost (Saunders). Also remembered by her many nieces, nephews, card and shuffle board playing friends. Cremation arrangements entrusted to the Torrance Funeral Home. Peacefully at Lakeland Long Term Care on Friday May 11, 2018 in his 77th year. Dear son of the late Wilfrid Forget and Alice (Cartier) Forget. Loving father of Chantal, Eric, Andre, and John. He prized his 4 grandchildren Jacob, Annabelle, Amelia and Mirielle. Always remembered by his brothers Marc Forget (Liliane), and Richard Forget. Fondly remembered by his nephews. Graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Degree in Chartered Accounting from Queen’s U. in 1966; He worked as a Field Auditor for Chrysler Corporation, a Zone Manager for American Motors then as a Charted Accountant in Sudbury for many years. Family will receive friends at the Torrance Funeral Home on Monday May 14, 2018 from 2 – 4 PM. Second visitation will be held at the Co-operative Funeral Home Sudbury on Wednesday May 16, 2018 from 6 – 9 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Hope Church, Sudbury on Thursday May 17, 2018 at 10:30 AM. Cremation to follow. Bruce passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 2, 2018 at Belvedere Heights Home for the Aged at the age of 91. Beloved husband of the late Estella (nee Hall) Miller. Proud father of Alice Rae and her husband Vernon, Grace Miller, Paul Miller and his wife Cathy. Grandfather of Carolyn and her husband Scott de Koning. Survived by his brother Allan and his wife Jill Miller, Sister in law Marie (Late Ralph) Miller. Bruce will be missed by his nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. A special thank you to Dr. M. Thompson and the nurses and staff at Belvedere Heights Home for the Aged for their care and support of Bruce. Your kindness is truly appreciated. Passed away at West Parry Sound Heath Centre on April 24th, 2018 at the age of 55. Survived by her loving sister Denise and brother-in-law Brian Cuthbertson. Husband, Lee Smith and daughter Amber Smith. Dawn was the daughter of the late Carol Cascanette, and Stepfather Joseph (Lou) Cascanette. She also leaves behind the many friends and care giving persons of Belvedere Heights, where she made lasting friendships over the last nine years. She will be missed by all. Dawn‘s cremation has taken place, and she will travel home with her sister and brother-in-law, to Sarnia, Ontario. A very special thanks to Teri, Carol, Sarah, Anna, Brenda, Connie, Andrea and Maryann who were her physical leaders, advocators, organizers, spiritual leaders, and great friends, as were many others. The Memorial Service will take place at Belvedere Heights Home for the Aged (21 Belvedere Ave. Parry Sound) on Saturday May 5, 2018 at 2:30 PM in the cafeteria.
